This wonderful creamy and flaky dessert was made that much better by the sweet Chambord that is topped so beautifully over it. Although it is summer time and dessert was not needed we did finish off by splitting one of the Clipper’s famous Napoleons. My husband chose to go with the Chicken cordon bleu which he said was excellent and the added pineapple that tops it he expressed was something different yet a definite success. I would have preferred another option over the lemon butter again (Béarnaise is also offered but not my taste), but it paired nicely with the seasoning on the tuna which had just the right amount of heat. The tuna is offered two ways and I chose to have it blackened with once again lemon butter. For dinner I had the yellow fin tuna, as this is one of my favorite entrees, and I was not disappointed. The scallops were lightly breaded and had a lemon butter that took them to the next level. I chose to start out my meal with the sautéed scallop appetizer. I would say that from the time the hostess led us to the bar until we arrived at our table was only 15 minutes. My husband only ordered a scotch, however I chose to step out of my comfort zone and order one of their “specialty” martinis which was very good, however I will stick to my Margaritas. We headed into the bar and, although busy, we were greeted almost immediately by the bartender. The restaurant itself was quite busy, as we expected it would be, however the hostess offered for us to grab a drink in the bar while we waited. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the hostess who was very pleasant, as well as professional. This restaurant has been a staple in the Clayton community and you could say one of the best throughout the Thousand Islands itself so I knew we would make no mistake in choosing to eat here. My husband and I do not have a lot of free time for “dates” anymore, but when we did finally get the chance this past week we decided to go to the Clipper Inn. The atmosphere in the dining room is one without comparison no matter what brings you in for dinner and drinks. If you’re looking for a romantic dinner for two or a full table of friends catching up then the Clipper Inn is the place to go.
